A new book, Lon Chaney: In His Own Words, presents the iconic horror film actor at his finest. Chaney granted few interviews during his lifetime, and this book assembles them into one special volume. What he had to say about his life, his career, and his motion pictures. Also, the title contains nearly 50 photos, many published full-size, all studio production quality. In addition, a complete title listing of all of Chaney's films from 1912-1930.
I have been a fan of Lon Cheney for many years. I even wrote a paper on him with researching at the Boston Library and other sources. I documented at the time that the sources I found actually were not referenced in the book I found on Chaney. So here comes this book in his own words. I bought the book because I was truly interested to see where the sources from. Sadly there are no sources listed in the book. I even went to see if any of the quotes I had from Chaney were duplicated in this book. So far I have not found any to match my known sources.
ReplyDeleteThis means I cannot verify the sources. I cannot recommend this book without the above reservations. It does have a complete list of films, photos from most of his films. Compilations need sources.
